You don't know...
Once when J was around 5 or 6 she came into the old house with a very green grapefruit. She stated it was a mango and she was going to eat it. My ex and I said - no J its a grapefruit. J proceeded to stand her ground, standing toe to toe with her father.
"Its a Mango"
"Its a Grapefruit"
"Its a Mango"
"Its a Grapefruit"
Both getting redder and louder with each exclamation.
J followed the last bellow of 'It's a Mango' with the phrase..."You don't know!!!"
That has been her mantra recently - as we (the adults) are the stupid ones.
"Jacqui - get up for school" - Me
"There is none - I checked the website last nite" - J
"There is school - They announced on the news"- Me
"No there is not!!! You don't know!!!" - J
My exit was annouced with...If you don't want to go to school - you should just say so. But, because your being such a pain about it - I am not giving you and excused absence and you will have to deal with the consequences.
If you know Jacqui - you know that moving her is not an option.
Looking back - my Mom was the one who got us up. If you didnt get up then Dad was sent in.
I wish I could call my Dad in for backup on this one. I would bet ya - she would move like her bed was on fire.
That I do know!
