Coldplay

Last night I went to see Apple's Daddy perform. Gwen's hubby? You know the guy?

He rocked the house! Or I should say they....

I stood for the entire thing- J a lover of hip-hop jumped up and down right beside me. Our voices strained from singing and cheering and giddy with joy because he wasthisclose.

I have mentioned my love of men from other countries. There accents kill me and turn me into goo.

I loved, loved, loved the Stones when I was growing up. Any band with with an accent...Totally caught my attention.

I think that's why I have a slight infatuation with my boss. I can just imagine him singing a Beatles tune and me passing out just from the sound. Swoon!

So the girls (my J and HB's - E) made the long trek to the concert. And by the end of it - the girls want to make England our next destination for vacation so that they can find themselves a husband.

He was high energy. The crowd was huge - I have never seen a concert that packed in that venue. The fans were true. Some concerts I attend are full of posers. You know the ones - the ones that just want to say that they were there. This place throbbed with energy the whole evening. I was so sorry to see him end the evening.

Twice - he made an error during a song. He stopped and cussed to the girls delight.

"Why does it sound so cute when he says it?" Ladies - I have been asking myself that for years.

Funny thing is - he's really not that attractive. But - by the end of the night - we were all saying how adorable he was. How does that happen?

He complained that he was losing his voice - but he sounded terrific! The songs new mixed with old - kept us entertained the whole time.

HB - who only attended because it was E's birthday present, left as a fan. Couldn't believe that the guy jumped around through the entire set. This is only because the guys that HB makes me go see all have had hip replacements.

So - I loved it! Would recommend it. And will not forget it.

J (the lover of all things hip-hop) grinned from ear to ear. It was nice to see her appreciate something way off the scale of what she enjoys.

Coldplay - you all are hott!

Rainbow...

I have a painter at my house. He is putting the finishing touches on my kitchen.

I picked a lovely red / orange. My house is all colors of the rainbow.

But - I really love this color!

I love it so much that I wondered if I I could get away with bringing it all through the house. But - I know it would be a little much.

My decorating sense is telling me that I should probably continue the color scheme thru the whole house. But - then the oddball in me likes the contrast with the colors in the living room.

I read so much about colors and how they make you feel.

Yellow makes you happy. Like sunshine. My office is yellow. My living room is yellow.

Orange and Reds are good for dining rooms and kitchens. It stimulates your mind and creativity and makes you hungry.

My J likes the color so much she wants me to paint her bedroom again - that color. I said no - its hard enough to get her to go to sleep on a normal night. I don't need a color to work against me!

Pale colors such as greens and pale purples and pinks and soft blues are good for bedrooms - soothing. They make you want to settle in.

So I took all this info and did it with every room in the house.

So - though odd and probably not what I should do in palette picking. I am very happy with it.

First time since this whole Reno that I am truly excited.

See the color is working already.

Dognapper

I am going to become a dognapper.

I have filled out tons of online rescue applications and I haven't heard squat!

Their websites state that need foster homes desperately.

Woo Hoo - I am here - waving my flag.

Kills me to watch TV. In the hurricane destruction coverage people are not allowed to bring their animals with them.

So they show dogs trying in vain to catch a ride on the bus. They show packs of dogs that are malnourished.

If you read the BBC website - they are shooting them in the street so they don't start to find each other and pack up.

Many will not leave their homes because of the 15 cats they own cannot go with them on the boat.

Pictures of dogs abandoned in homes - left by their owners. They will parish.

My Mom said she rescued a dog the other day - My heart jumped. What kind?!?

She said it was huge.

I can't have huge - but under 30 lbs.

I am your girl.

So if you start losing your animals - its me.

Stupid rescue sites!

Heartache

I returned from my trip last week to face a storm. The bitch really was a doozy. We figured she would just spit on us and be on her way. I was happy that after a long trip I was going to get a 4 day weekend. She blew out power and phones and knocked down trees. I didn't have a thing. I wasn't prepared. I sorely underestimated the storm.

Then she rides in the Gulf and reeks havoc upon thousands.

I usually watch FOX. They are showing the looting - the laughing - the lawlessness. Watching that channel I had decided to let them all kill each other.

Animals.

The rapes, the murders - walking by the dead on the street without even a glance back.

But last night I watched CBS news. They showed decent people caught in the middle of the horror. Decent folks that are in desperate need.

Women with infants sobbing because they cannot feed their children. People making the trek for something that wasn't better then the roof that they were stranded on.

A picture of a woman sitting next to her dead husband who had been suffering from lung cancer had run out of oxygen.

A small girl sobbing over her mother who is passed out from heat, dehydration and exhaustion.

We can invade a country within hours. The floating medical hospital that the government has on the way....2 weeks.

Our company made a $2500.00 donation to the Red Cross yesterday.

I donated $100.00.

Since I feel those people have been abandoned by the government. I hope that my donation will help at least one person survive this horrible misfortune.

The people on TV are human beings. Someone's Mother, Father, Sister and Brother.

So - if you can...Please donate to the families that are just trying to survive.
